On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu requested the Senate to confirm his nominees for appointment as Service Chiefs. Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Tinubu’s letter of request during the plenary session.
The nominated Service Chiefs, who will undergo screening and confirmation by the Senate, are Major General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, Major Taoreed Lagbaja as Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar as Chief of Air Staff.
Due to the absence of the relevant Standing Committees in the Senate, Akpabio stated that the screening process for the Service Chiefs would be conducted by the Committee of the Whole of the Senate.
