There is a tense atmosphere in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, as the sound of gunshots reverberates due to a clash between personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Amotekun Corps.
The exact cause of the clash remains unclear at the time of reporting. However, the confrontation took place in front of the Amotekun command office in Oke-Fia, prompting shop owners to flee for their safety as both sides discharged firearms into the air.
Upon visiting the scene, Vanguard observed the presence of heavily armed Amotekun Corps positioned in front of the command office, restricting access to the premises.
It has been reported that senior officials from both sides are currently engaged in a meeting to find a resolution to the crisis.
