BREAKING: Police dismiss Lagos killer cop, begins trial July 7

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has given his approval for the dismissal of a police officer named Kabiru Odejimi, who allegedly fatally shot a 24-year-old generator technician named Idris Bakare on Sunday, May 28, in the Oregun area of Lagos State.

Odejimi, who was assigned to the Alausa Police Division, reportedly arrived at a party in the community accompanied by his fellow officers.

The policemen, acting recklessly, reportedly harassed the attendees of the party and discharged several rounds of gunfire. Tragically, one of the bullets struck Bakare, causing him to succumb to his injuries and pass away.

Following the incident, a thorough investigation conducted by the police revealed that Odejimi was responsible for firing the shot that resulted in Bakare’s untimely demise. Consequently, the decision was made to dismiss him from his position.
