Jay Z’s mother weds longtime lesbian partner, Roxanne Wilshire

Over the weekend, Gloria Carter, the mother of renowned American rapper Jay Z, tied the knot with her long-time girlfriend, Roxanne Wilshire, in Tribeca, New York City. The wedding ceremony was graced by notable celebrities, and Jay Z proudly led the way as a loving son.

Accompanied by his wife Beyoncé, 41, Jay Z made a grand entrance into the venue, exuding glamour and elegance. Beyoncé, adorned in skyscraper heels, held their daughter Blue Ivy, 11, providing support as they walked in. The couple looked stunning in their evening attire, with Beyoncé complementing her peach look with a feather wrap.

The guest list included familiar faces such as Kelly Rowland, Tyler Perry, Robin Roberts, and Corey Gamble. The celebration was nothing short of grand, with reports from TMZ stating that the reception continued until approximately 1 am.

As the evening concluded, Gloria and Roxanne bid farewell to the party. Gloria was dressed in a white suit, while Roxanne radiated in a stunning gold and white shimmery dress.

Jay Z, 53, has been openly supportive of his mother’s sexuality ever since she publicly came out as gay in his 2017 track “Smile,” featured on his album 4:44.

In the song, the Grammy-winning rapper reflects on Gloria’s experience of hiding her identity as a lesbian while raising four children. He also expresses his joy upon Gloria finding love and companionship with Roxanne.
