Adeoye Adeyolu Blessing, a chef hailing from Ondo State, has embarked on a mission to surpass the current world record for the longest individual cooking hours, which is held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.
Commencing on Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Adeola’s cook-a-thon is set to conclude on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Enthusiastic fans are actively tuning in to the live video session of the Ondo chef’s 150-hour Cook-a-thon to witness her remarkable feat. She has already been cooking for over 5 hours and shows no signs of slowing down.
Nevertheless, this news has sparked a wave of reactions, as numerous online users criticize the Ondo State chef for attempting to break the record so soon after it was achieved by Baci in March 2023.
Despite the controversy surrounding her endeavor, Adeola, the chef from Ondo State, remains resolute in her determination to establish a new record. She asserts that she has diligently prepared for this cook-a-thon.
Following the recent achievement of Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, who hails from Akwa Ibom and holds the record for the longest cooking marathon, having cooked continuously for an impressive duration of 93 hours and 11 minutes, another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, also known as Chef Dammy, has embarked on a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
