Pariolodo, a veteran Yoruba movie actor, has publicly voiced his criticism of Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin, the president of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), for his refusal to assist him during his time of need.
In a viral video, Pariolodo revealed the challenges he was facing, including an unfinished residence and the need for reliable transportation. He reached out to Nigerians for help, and Pastor Gabriel Agbala, a renowned clergyman who previously assisted actress Iya Gbonkan, visited him. Through a live video, kind-hearted Nigerians from around the world donated 6 million Naira to support him.
In a recent video circulating online, Pariolodo expressed his disappointment and frustration towards Mr. Latin for neglecting him. He reminded Mr. Latin that he had been in the industry long before him, emphasizing that he started his acting journey in 1976 while Mr. Latin was still in secondary school. Pariolodo asserted that they are not equal in terms of age and career, highlighting the disparity between their experiences.
He averred in parts:
“Mr. Latin you were in secondary school when I ventured into Nollywood, I’m not your mate.. I started acting in 1976″
Pariolodo expressed his disappointment, pointing out that despite his significant contributions to the Nigerian film industry, he had not received the expected support from someone in a position of influence like Mr Latin.
He went on to criticize Mr Latin for refusing to assist him on the grounds that he is not a member of TAMPAN. Pariolodo recalled a previous incident where Mr Latin allegedly abandoned Baba Ijesha due to his principles.
The veteran actor mentioned the names of his colleagues, including Olaiya Igwe, Adekola Tijani, Sanyeri, and others, who had visited him and congratulated him on his new car and completed house. However, he noted that Mr Latin had not reached out to him yet, highlighting the lack of support from someone he expected to receive assistance from.
