Muyiwa Ademola, a prominent Nollywood actor, has expressed his frustration with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) for their persistent power cuts and restoration.
The movie star shared his experience of returning home from work, only to have his sleep repeatedly interrupted by the inconsistent power supply. He lamented how the PHCN disrupted his peaceful rest by frequently restoring and interrupting the electricity at 5 to 10-minute intervals.
Calling on the PHCN to cease this annoying behavior, he voiced his frustration with the noise pollution caused by the light alarms installed in his area.
“Cutting off and restoring power back like 50 times within 24 hours! So frustrating! IBEDC/PHCN you can actually do better!
This recent act by IBEDC/PHCN in my place is so so frustrating!
Been on a film set for 18 days, came back yesterday evening and they messed up the very first peaceful sleep I could have gotten!
Restoring the light and interrupting it at 5 to 10 minutes intervals. It was as if someone was toying with the whole process. They should please stop this annoying act and let us do with the alternative to their epileptic power supply!
Few houses including mine are installed with light alarms, can you imagine the effect of this avoidable noise pollution intermittently from 9 pm till this moment! This has been going on for months, destroying electrical appliances amidst other things. If not for the fact neighbors don’t enjoy one running generator while the IBEDC power supply is on. I would have cared less.
Enough of this please!”.
