Actor Johnson pleads on skit maker, Trinity guy’s behalf following prison remand

Johnson, a popular Nigerian actor, has made a plea on behalf of Abdullahi Maruf, also known as Trinity Guy, a skit maker based in Ibadan.

Last week, the skit maker faced questioning by the police due to a disturbing skit in which he portrayed inappropriate content involving a minor.

After attending an invitation from the Oyo State Police on Friday morning, June 24, Trinity Guy was taken to court today, Monday, June 26.

At a family court located in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Trinity Guy was ordered to be remanded at the Agodi correctional facility. He faces allegations of sexually exploiting a 10-year-old girl and her parents, with charges of conspiracy, sexual abuse, and exploitation filed against him and the skit maker.

Adeniyi Johnson, in response to the report, expressed his plea on Instagram, urging all relevant agencies to show mercy and compassion. He acknowledged that the skit maker’s actions were wrong but emphasized that the individual has learned from their mistakes.

“Dear Nigerian police force and every other related agency!!! many of us agree that our brother did what is wrong and absurd!! All I am pleading for is to TEMPER JUSTICE WITH MERCY. please @iamtrinityguy is a young man looking for what to eat legally but he incidentally fell on the wrong side of the law!!!

Please be merciful as I know he has learned already @nigerianpoliceforce.”
