Nigeria may have qualified for 2023 AFCON after their 3-2 win over Leone Statrs of Sierra Leone on Sunday, but it came at huge price for the foreign based stars who laboured so hard to come to terms with a strange ball used for the match, iwitnesslive.com can report.

Unknown to many, Super Eagles players prosecuted the match without the officiaL match ball as required by CAF and FIFA rule.

A top Super Eagles player who pleaded anonymity revealed that thay had to play the match with ordinary ball when the host could failed to provide official match ball.

Findings revealed that it was one of the ploy designed by Sierra Leone to make the game uncomfortable for Nigerian players who plies their trade abroad.

“The pitch he was horrible and we had to play without the official matchball. The ball that you all saw on TV was purchased from somewhere, it was not the official match ball,” he lamented.
