Safety, security of citizens, my top priority, says Gov. Uba Sani

The Kaduna state governor, Sen. Uba Sani, has stressed the need to build a relationship between the executive arm of government and the legislature.

Sani disclosed this on Tuesday in Kaduna during his visit to the state high court.

He said no state or nation can remain stable without an effective and dynamic judiciary.

He also said safety and security of the citizens are the top priority of his administration.

“For us to succeed in this area, the judiciary must play a critical role, whereby people must be held accountable for their actions or inactions.

He said the full weight of the law must be brought to bear on those who have been putting the communities under siege and destroying the economy of the rural areas.

He said they are aware of the challenges facing the judiciary – Infrastructure, welfare, and training are just but a few of them.

“We are committed to the full implementation of the autonomy of the judiciary, because a well-functioning judiciary will quicken justice for our people and deepen our democracy,” he said, adding that independence of the judiciary is desirable and must be respected.

According to him, “we must realise that cooperation by all arms of government is necessary to enable the government to deliver on it promise to the people and stabilize the state.

He also said ensuring effective coordination and constant communication and dialogue are key.

“Our doors shall remain open on issues and concerns that need to be addressed.

On his part, the Chief Judge of Kaduna state, Justice Muazu Aliyu, appreciated the governor for the visit and wished him well
