Lata Tondon, the previous Guinness World Record holder for the longest individual cooking time, has gracefully accepted the outcome after being dethroned by the new Nigerian record holder, Chef Hilda Baci.
On Tuesday, Guinness World Records officially recognized Hilda as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, with an impressive time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Chef Tondon took to her Instagram stories on Thursday to extend her congratulations to Hilda and all Nigerians on their remarkable achievements. Accompanied by a photo of herself wearing a white chef’s uniform, she shared a heartfelt message.
She wrote, “Namastey Nigeria. I’m very happy for you all, & my best wishes to Hilda!”
Recall that Lata Tondon had received a range of responses after she deleted her initial message of support to Baci and removed the Guinness World Record title from her Instagram bio.
Back in May, Tondon conveyed her well wishes to Hilda Baci on Instagram when Baci announced her cook-a-thon. Tondon had shared a photo of Hilda along with a caption, expressing her support.

“All the best Hilda Hope to see you on the Official Site of Guinness Book Of World Records Soon!!”
Following the announcement by Guinness World Records on Tuesday, June 13, declaring Hilda as the new record holder for the longest individual cooking time, it was observed that Lata Tondon had removed her previous post from her page.
Additionally, it was noticed that she had also removed the Guinness World Record title from her Instagram bio.
