David Adeleke, the renowned Nigerian singer, also known as Davido, has sparked a buzz on the internet due to his interview discussing Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
During his appearance on the ABTalks podcast hosted by Anas Bukhash, the DMW Boss disclosed that he considers the soccer icon to be a “very good friend” of his.
As the OBO Crooner, who made history as the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar last year, passionately expressed his frustration towards those who ridiculed Ronaldo following Portugal’s elimination from the tournament.
His words;
“Look at [Cristiano] Ronaldo when he left the World Cup. He is my friend, by the way. He is my very good friend.
“When he [Ronaldo] left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and they [trolls] were abusing him so much, even after everything that he has done.”
In 2017, Davido paid homage to Cristiano Ronaldo through his chart-topping song ‘Fall.’
Davido is the only African artiste that Ronaldo follows on Instagram.
