Precious Chikwendu, a former beauty queen and mother of four, has recently decided to speak out amidst the significant criticism surrounding her public appearance with her estranged husband, Femi Fani-Kayode.
The couple, who are currently separated, sparked a wave of attention on social media after attending a dinner party in Abuja on Tuesday, June 13th, held in honor of Benjamin Kalu, the newly elected deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.
Femi Fani-Kayode took to his Instagram page to share photos of himself and Precious donning matching white outfits, but unfortunately, the comments that followed were largely negative and disapproving.
The photos and the fact that the pair attended the event together in matching clothes surprised many who are in the know about their estranged relationship.
Following a tumultuous breakup in 2022, the former Nigerian aviation minister and Precious, who are parents to four boys, officially separated. The split was marred by allegations made by Precious, accusing the former minister of various wrongdoings, including abuse. In turn, FFK filed a countersuit, responding to claims of infidelity.
However, several months ago, after an intense custody battle that resulted in FFK having primary care of the children, it appears that they reached a settlement outside of court. As a result, Precious has been granted occasional access to her kids.
FFK’s recent social media post sparked speculation that the politician and Precious may have reconciled, despite their acrimonious breakup and, notably, FFK’s current relationship with a new girlfriend.
In response to the criticism, particularly in light of Precious’s previous claims of physical and emotional abuse, she shared photos of herself from the same event, omitting any pictures of FFK. Her caption simply read, “Ayo’mi,” in Yoruba which means “my joy”.
