Kalu emerges deputy House speaker unopposed of the 10th NASS

In a show of support and unity, members-elect have unanimously adopted Benjamin Kalu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly.

Following a competitive contest for the speakership, Tajudeen Abbas emerged as the speaker, and Kalu, standing unopposed, secured his position as the Deputy Speaker. This collective decision signifies the confidence and trust placed in Kalu’s capabilities by his fellow members-elect.

Confirming that there were no other nominations for the position, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambuwal, swore in Kalu as Deputy Speaker immediately.
