Dr. Yetunde, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, has called upon President Tinubu to follow in the footsteps of the late democracy icon, Chief MKO Abiola, and prioritize the welfare of Nigerians.
In a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday, Adeniji emphasized the significance of this charge in light of the recent Democracy Day celebrations.
As Nigeria moves forward, Dr. Adeniji urges President Tinubu to uphold the values of democracy and work tirelessly toward the betterment of the Nigerian people.
While commending the masses for their unwavering commitment to democracy, the director of The Asiwaju Group appealed to the president to continue upholding democratic values while extending a helping hand to the less privileged.
According to her, June 12 should serve as a reminder of Nigeria’s hard-fought journey towards a system of governance that empowers the people and provides a platform for their voices to be heard.
She said, “As we move forward, I implore President Tinubu to emulate the late Chief MKO Abiola by championing the cause of democracy and extending a helping hand to those in need. By prioritizing the well-being of all Nigerians, especially the less privileged, we can truly build a just and prosperous nation”.
“Democracy Day is a time for us to reflect on the significance of democracy in our nation and renew our commitment to upholding its principles. I commend the Nigerian people for their resilience and unwavering belief in the power of democracy”.
She also acknowledged the efforts of numerous individuals who worked tirelessly to establish this democratic era and emphasized the importance of safeguarding and nurturing these hard-earned freedoms.
