Gov. Abdullahi Umar snubs Ganduje, resumes demolition of illegal structures

Kano residents woke up to a shocking sight in the early hours of Sunday morning as taskforce resumed the pulling down illegal structure in the state capital.

Immediate past Governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje had faulted the moves as the new administration stepped up demolitions of structures on lands that were orallegedly sold out by his administration.

Ganduje during his visits to Aso Rock on Friday raised objection to the demolition, while Kwankwaso faulted Ganduje for selling out significant places, like mosques and grave yards.

Governor Abdullahi Umar had ordered the task force to demolish shops built by the fence of Sani Abacha stadium at Kofar Mata, GSS Kofar Nasarawa facing IBB road and buildings by GGSS Dukawuya, Goron Dutse.

Besides, Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) also demolished part of Government Girls Secondary School, Dukawiya, in the state metropolis.
