Ex-Imo speaker’s orderly found dead in bush

A tragic incident unfolded as the lifeless body of Charles, an orderly to a former speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Collins, was discovered in a bush within the Oguta Local Government Area of the state. The untimely demise of Charles occurred just a few days ago.

A few weeks ago, Charles, an inspector of police, and a driver were abducted in the Ohaji/Egbema area of the state. Reports indicate that they were traveling in a Hilux and a sport utility vehicle when they were ambushed by their assailants and forcefully taken into a nearby forest.

Tragically, the driver was later discovered dead, while the search operation to locate Charles has been ongoing, with his whereabouts yet to be determined.

The lifeless body of Charles, which had already decomposed, was later found in a bush a few days ago.

The victim’s colleagues told our correspondent that the command was saddened by the killing of the inspector of police, who hails from the Mbaise area of the state.

According to an anonymous source, who preferred not to be named, it was revealed that Charles’ remains were discovered in a bush within the Oguta area. Regrettably, his body had already undergone decomposition. The source described the manner of his death as extremely distressing, with a deep cut inflicted on his neck, evoking disgust.

Upon reaching out for confirmation, Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the state police, affirmed the incident. He further informed me that the state commissioner of police, Muhammed Berde, had tasked a team of police investigators with the responsibility of apprehending the perpetrators. Okoye emphasized that the police command is committed to ensuring that those responsible for the inspector’s murder are apprehended and brought to justice, facing the full extent of the law.
