Nottingham Forest has confirmed Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis among the lists of players that will feature in its pre-season tour.
In a statement on Nottingham website, the club confirmed that Awoniyi will be part of the team when Nottingham Forest face PSV Eindhoven in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Awoniyi was instrumental to Nottingham’s survival as the club battled Leicester City, Everton, and Leeds United to avoid the drop last season.
He is expected to lead the club’s onslaught in the coming season as Nottingham hope to punch above its weight in the too tier of English football. But the team’s pre-season tour ahead of the league, which kick-off in August will go a long way to determine how prepared the team is for the new season.
Other listed players for pre-season tour are Emmanuel Dennis who struggled to cut last season under manager Steve Cooper and thereby considered surplus to requirement.
Other players that won’t be part of the pre-season are Ghana’s Black Stars captain, Andrew Ayew, Cafú, Jack Colback, Jesse Lingard, Jordan Smith, and Lyle Taylor.
