U-20 World Cup: Nigerians upbeat despite Flying Eagles' exit

By Dsvid Kabiyesi

Cross-sections of Nigerian football fans believe the future of Nigerian football is in safe hands despite FlyingEagles’ painful exit from FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Goal-shy Flying Eagles conceded an extra-time goal to bow out of the competition on Sunday night as South Korea progressed to the semi-finals.

Commenting on Flying Eagles’ performance on Sunday, some fans expressed confidence in the ability of the current cross of players to metamorphose into the senior national team bearing any injury.

” The players were just unlucky to crash out of the competition, they gave their best in the competition. A whole lot of them can be integrated into Super Eagles in no time,”  Innocent Samiyu told iwitnesslive.com

The Flying Eagles failed to score in over 120 minutes of the encounter.

However, the Koreans grabbed the winner in the 95th minute through C. Seok-Hyun, after there were no goals in regulation time.
