The news that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) intended to arrest former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom is untrue, according to Terver Akase, Ortom’s media representative. According to Akase, who disputed the report, Ortom has nothing to hide because he ran an open government when serving as governor of Benue State.
Akase stressed that Ortom is ready to cooperate with the EFCC or any other anti-graft organization if asked. The story published by various online news media outlets, is unfounded and far from the truth, according to the governor’s media adviser.
