Seun Kuti in Police custody over assault on officer

Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti is now in Police custody after he was arrested on Monday over a video of his assault on an officer, which went viral on social media, iwitnesslive.com can report.

The son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti was seen in the video slapping a policeman standing by a police van.

 “you dey mad’’? (are you insane’’?).” Seun Kuti had asked his victim repeatedly

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, then ordered the arrest of the late Abami eda’s son for his action.

Narrating his own side of the story on Saturday, the Afrobeat musician maintained that the officer threatened to to kill him and his entire family following a heated argument

“He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof but I no dey chase clout.

“He has apologised and I have agreed not to press charges. Make una mind una business make the poor guy no lose him job.”

Seun then vowed to co-operate with police to carry out proper investigation.

“I welcome the investigation and will give my full cooperation! I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted,” he said in a second Instastory.

Seun is yet to react to his arrest as at press time
