Supreme Court adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s case till next month

The hearing in the case of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was postponed by the Supreme Court on Thursday until the next month.

The Special Counsel for the IPOB commander, Aloy Ejimakor, tweeted the Supreme Court’s ruling.

“Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has postponed the #MNK appeal hearing until next month,” Ejimakor posted on Twitter.

The self-determination activist appealed the Court of Appeal’s decision to prevent his release from DSS detention to the Supreme Court on November 3, 2022.

Kanu filed an appeal against the appellate court’s 28 October 2022 judgment, which ordered a stay of execution of its earlier judgement clearing him of all charges and ordering his release from the secret service’s custody.
Prior to the hearing, Kanu’s Special Counsel had urged the Supreme Court to ensure justice in the trial of the IPOB leader, stressing that his matter should end today.
