Chief of Staff: Gbajabiamila is Tinubu's anointed candidate- APC source

Exclusive By David Kabiyesi

The long internal tussle among All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftains over who should bark out orders as Tinubu’s Chief of Staff may have been decided after all if feelers from the party’s decent source is anything to go by.

Word was rife in Lagos that President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have settled for current Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to be the country’s next Chief of Staff.

iwitnesslive.com impeccable source, who is a top member of Lagos House of Representatives revealed that Jagaban has anointed Gbajabiamila ahead of Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, but the incoming president is now faced with the daunting task of selling the idea to other party members who are equally eyeing the lofty post

” I can confidently tell you that Gbaja is Tinubu’s preferred candidate for the post of Chief of Staff. Top party members had suggested Fashola but the truth is that Fashola was closer to President Buhari than Tinubu not until Asiwaju moved to succeed Buhari.

” It might interest you that the president-elect did not even recommend BFR for the role of minister of works if not because Buhari insisted on having Fashola on board.

“Although Asiwaju knows too well it will be difficult to impose Gbaja because everyone knows that there are other top shots in the party who are equally qualified for the post.

” But if Tinubu has his way, Gbajabiamila will become the next Chief of staff,” said APC decent source who pleaded anonymity.

It remains to be seen how things will pan out as agitations continue over who should be crowned Chief of Staff.
