Super Eagles left-full-back, Calvin Bassey is not likely to leave the hot seat anytime soon despite the barrage of criticism labeled against him by both Ajax fans and ex-internationals.
Top Dutch football pundit Johan Inan has told Ajax Showtime why the former Rangers defender tops the list of all-time Ajax bad signings.
Recall Bassey joined Ajax last summer after a successful stint at Glasgow Rangers, but the power play defender has failed to live up to his price tag this season.
Bassey “Sometimes, but I didn’t see this coming when they got those players.
“They go from Blind, Martínez, and Mazraoui to Hato, Bassey, and Sánchez. That is typical of the mismanagement at Ajax.
“No purchase pays off. At most only keeper Rulli, but he was also very unhappy in Eindhoven. It’s a consequence of not having a director of football affairs and ignoring your scouting.
“Then, after a very painful year, Ajax concludes that it was all unnecessary”. he said
