Uzodimma endorses Iwuanyanwu as President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo

The selection of Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as the President General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo by the Imo State Council of Elders has received the support of the Imo State government.

The Imo State Council of Elders came to offer their resolution for the approval and execution of the Charter of Equity in political posts throughout the State today, and Governor Hope Uzodimma accepted their presentation at the Exco Chambers.

Governor Hope Uzodimma commended the Statesman, Chief Iwuanyanwu, for accepting to serve Igbos and the Nation in this role while praising the Imo State Council of Elders for their selection.

Since this is the first time the Igbos have chosen their leader in unanimity, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu stated in his remarks, “I identify it as a sacred assignment and I am happy to accept this responsibility.”

The Governor was praised by Chief Iwuanyanwu for his political willpower and ability to lead in the development of the State. He expressed happiness at the enhanced quality of life brought about by the reconstruction of the Owerri–Okigwe route and other highways throughout the State.

 

The State’s Elders Council observed a minute silence in honour of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Professor George Obiozor.

It is worthy of note, that Imo State still retains the slot of position of the President-General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo following the demise of Professor George Obiozor.
