Super Eagles midfielder, Alexander Iwobi has showered encomium on his teammates for digging deep despite playing one man down to ensure Tofees shared the spoils with Tottenham Hotspur in Monday night football fixture.
Still basking in the euphoria of his team performance at Goodison Park on Monday night, Iwobi said in a tweet that it takes character for a side to bounce back from rock-bottom and pick valuable point against a good side like Spurs.
“Character,” Iwobi said in a tweet on Tuesday morning.
With one man down following the dismissal of Abdiulaye Doucoure in 58th minutes, Everton was heading for another relegation morass after Michael Keane fouled Romero in the box.
Keane then turned from zero to the hero of the night after he fired a stunning shot that caught goalkeeper Hugo Lioris napping few minutes to stoppage time.
Iwobi turned out to be one of the top performers of the night as Everton continued its battle to stay afloat at the end of the season.
