Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, claims to have spent 12 billion naira on 10 firefighting vehicles for Nigerian airports.
On Sunday, April 2, Sirika said that he had ordered ten fire trucks for the Federal Airports Authority, FAAN.
Sirika stated that FAAN had not purchased firefighting trucks in 15 years in a message that was circulated on Twitter.
He tweeted: “Just commissioned 10 Firefighting trucks, total cost of over 12Bn Naira. More to come in due course. Safety has been the Buhari focus in Aviation, since 2015. Hitherto FAAN has not bought new trucks in 15 years.”
