Air Peace begins direct flight to India

The major airline in West and Central Africa, Air Peace, has begun offering nonstop flights to Mumbai, the capital of the state of Maharashtra in southwestern India.

With ambitions to start operating in Delhi as soon as the airline’s Mumbai service gains considerable traction, the company will begin with two weekly flight frequencies to Mumbai.

For Indians and Nigerians who typically have to travel for long stretches of time to India with stopovers, this direct, nonstop service from Lagos to Mumbai is a welcome change.

The Chief Operating Officer of Air Peace, Oluwatoyin Olajide said, “The Mumbai route is our fourth international destination and is strongly indicative of our unwavering commitment to continually expand our route network to meet the evolving travel needs of not only the Nigerian market but also the West African sub-region.”

She said the airline was strengthening its presence on the Asian continent with the launch of the Mumbai service. She added that it is not just a big stride for the airline; but also a huge feat for Nigeria in the implementation of its Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with India, and deepening socio-economic ties between both countries.
