Haaland still not training; doubt for Liverpool

Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, was not present for the team’s Thursday training and is a serious doubt for his team’s game against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Norwegian experienced a crotch injury in the FA Cup game in which City beat Burnley ten days prior, with Haaland scoring a hattrick. Additionally, he has spent a few days in Barcleona performing tests to determine the severity of the issue.

Haaland hasn’t been training with City in a few days and missed Norway’s two quarterfinal matches against Spain and Georgia at the EURO 2024 tournament. His participation in Saturday’s match against Liverpool is uncertain.

This season, the striker has scored 42 goals in 37 games, making it his best performance ever. His absence is crucial for City, who host Liverpool this Saturday at the Etihad and are eight points behind Arsenal (but have a game in hand). The Reds can only maintain their position in the race for fourth place in the Premier League with a victory.
