Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has played down the delay in the payment of his salary by his employers, Nigeria Football federation as the team faces Guinea-Bissau today in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Abuja.
The NFF is said to be owing the Portuguese 10-month salary arrears with speculations gaining the ground that he may walk out on his contract if the situation did not improve
Peseiro earns $70, 000 as salary per month.
However, when he was asked about the situation with his salary by journalists, the coach said, “The situation about my salary is between me and the NFF. I can’t share anything about it. I can share the information with my wife because she is my wife and there is no problem about that.”
The 62-year-old was appointed Super Eagles head coach in May, 2022.
