The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Enugu State is under intense pressure from People’s Democractic Party (PDP) and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) to declare Dr. Peter Mbah as winner of last Saturday’s governorship election, iwitnesslive.com gathered.
National President of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Okwu Nnabuike, in a statement, urged INEC to ignore Chijioke Edeoga’s petition and declared Mbah winner of the election.
Recall that Labour Party had raised concerns over the series of irregularities during Saturday’s elections most especially at Nkanu East Council which polled 30,000 votes for Dr. Peter Mbah
Besides, the party wondered why Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) recorded 30,000 votes for a region where only N7,000 voters were accredited.
The allegation then delayed the collation of results by INEC returning officer in the state, Prof. Ofo Iwe who demanded that LP made their complaints official
