Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has lost his reelection bid after he was defeated by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Dauda Lawan Dare in Saturday’s election.
Matawalle. the candidate of the All Progressives Congress scored 311,976 which was not enough to see him return to the State House in Gusau.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Lawan Dare as the governor-elect with a total of 377,726 votes in Gusau, the state capital in the early hours of Tuesday.
