One dies, shooting in Oshodi, Apapa, Ajeromi, others as violence mars guber polls in Lagos (videos)

 

One person has been killed as the ongoing governorship and house of assembly election in Lagos State is characterised by shooting, voter suppression and other violent acts.

In a video watched by our correspondent, someone was seen lying in a pool of his blood at the Ago Palace area of Isolo Local Government.

Although there were conflicting reports regarding the incident with some eyewitnesses claiming the deceased was one of the thugs loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress but another source said he was just a sympathiser of the ruling party and was just attacked by some other voters in the area dominated by the supporters of the Labour Party.

Iwitnesslive can report that shootings occurred in many places across the state including Oshodi, Apapa and Ajeromi.

Our correspondent reports that sporadic shootings were recorded around the Shogunle axis of Osodi as thugs scared voters away. A similar situation was recorded in Ijora where thugs suspected to be loyal to the ruling APC were shooting into the air.

Thugs allegedly attacked some voters at polling units 111 and 112 at Iba Estate in Ojo local government another set of hoodlums believed to be that of APC were seen issuing death threats to voters at Sabo Oniba also in Ojo.

The situation is not different in Lakowe in Eti Osa LGA, Apapa Iganmu, and Fadeyi in Lagos Mainland where thugs told non-APC voters to remain at home.

Meanwhile, our correspondent noticed that vote buying was thriving in some parts of Ikeja where voters were forced to show their votes after which they were given 5,000 before leaving.

 

The Chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garames Management Team Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo had been seen in a video threatening non-indigenes who would not vote for APC to stay at home.

He later recanted saying it was just a joke with one of his neighbours.
