Nigeria U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles are back in the country following their bronze-winning feat at the just concluded African Youth Championship in Egypt, iwitnesslive.con can report.
The contingent landed at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport Abuja on Moday aboard commercial flight and were received by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials.
Recal Flying Eagles bounced back from Group A opening defeat to Senegal to qualify for the knockout stage after running over host Egypt and Mozambique.
Nigeria then picked one of the four World Cup slots after defeating Uganda 1-0. The coach Ladan Bosso-tuttored side were pipped 1-0 by Gambia in the semi-finals.
But a resounding’ 4-0 win over Tunisia in the third-place earned Flying Eagles the bronze medal as the team returned to prepare for 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Indonesia in May.
