Tems misses out on Best Original Song award

By David Kabiyesi

Lightening refused to strike twice as Nigerian female music sensation, Tems lost out on Best Original Song award at the ongoing 95th edition of the Academy Awards, iwitnesslive.com can report.

Highly tipped to make another clean sweep after she won a Grammy early this year, but it was Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR who smiled home with Best Original Song award as Tems failed to take home any.

Tems was nominated for her effort and impact as a songwriter on ‘Lift Me Up,’ one of the forever Wakanda Forever.

She was also shortlisted alongside ‘Applause’ from ‘Tell It like a Woman’ (Diane Warren), ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun Maverick’ (Lady Gaga and BloodPop), ‘This Is a Life’ from ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ (Ryan Lott, David Byrne, and Mitski).

Expect the Nigerian music sensation to bounce back from rock-bottom and make headlines for what she knows how to do best.
