Lawmakers shift session till March 21

By David Kabiyesi

The Senate and House Representatives failed to observe its daily plenary on Monday, iwitnesslive.com can report.

The reason, iwitnesslive.com gathered is to allow lawmakers to participate in the upcoming gubernatorial and National Assembly elections, which come up this Saturday.

Plenary will now resume on March 21, 2023.

Recall that both Governorship and National Assembly elections were initially expected to go ahead on March 11, but were moved to March 18 to enable Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reconfigure its Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS); an electronic device designed to read Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and authenticate voters.
