U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles battle Tunisia for Bronze medal

 By David Meshioye

The Nigeria Flying Eagles will attempt cart away what has become a golden bronze medal at the Africa U-20 Championship when they file-out against Tunisia in today loser’s finals

Smarting from their 1-0 shocking loss to their West African neighbours, Gambia in the semi-final, the coach Ladan Bosso-tutored side will be armed to the teeth against a Tunisian side that has struggled to cut the tournament.

With World Cup ticket already in the bag, both teams would be playing for pride and hopefully return home with a bronze medal after three weeks of hostilities in Egypt.

The Nigerian U-20 side returned to training on Wednesday having rested from their Monday defeat. The players are expected to return fresh for today’s losers’ final which kicks off at the magnificent Cairo International stadium by 4;00 pm.

Already, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has saddled Mr. Mohamed Athoumani from The Comoros Islands to oversee proceedings while Mr. Fanta Idriss Kone and Soukaina Hamdi from Mali will be his assistant referee 1 and 2.

It remains to be seen if Flying Eagles can rise to the occasion and  turn the tide on the Tunisians.
