About 14 kidnapped victims in Kaduna state were rescued by troops of Operation Whirl Punch after an intense exchange of firepower with bandits.

In a statement released by commissioner for internal security, Samuel Aruwan, the troop operated from Tukurua area of Chikun LGA on a rescue mission.

One bandit died in a gun duel while others fled when they could not stand army’s firepower

“The troops, during the operation, rescued 14 kidnap victims, comprising nine men and five women,” Aruwan said.

“The victims were moved to a secure location for debriefing and examination, before being reunited with their families.”
