Presidential polls: Court hears Atiku, Obi’s suit on elections results today; PDP, LP demand inspection of materials

Underlining their readiness to reclaim their ‘mandates’, the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively have filed two ex-parte motions before Presidential Election Court and the hearing on the matter is scheduled to take place today.

The two candidates are contesting the results of Saturday’s presidential election which was won by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu.

Atiku and Obi are praying to the court to grant them an ex-parte motion for the inspection of election materials used during last Saturday’s poll.

The two candidates have refused to accept the outcome of the elections despite an olive branch extended to them by Tinubu and have now activated the legal process to seek redress.

Both motions, with the Independent National Electoral Commission and two others as respondents, have been listed for hearing on Friday (today).
