Former Minister of Transport, Yusuf Suleiman has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh elections in 471 polling units across 133 registration areas that were canceled.
Sokoto State INEC returning officer, Professor Muhammadu Kabir had confirmed that elections from the troubled unit were canceled due to violence, among others issues.
He stressed that the decision to call off the voting affected 301,499 registered voters who possess 254,902 collected PVC
But Yusuf Suleiman maintained that such decision means that over 300,000 would have been denied their civic right to vote for their candidates
It remains to be seen if INEC will heed the call. Recall PDP presidential candidate, Atiju Abubakar won in Sokoto while Tinubu came second.
