Security agents nab man in possession of N2m for vote buying

It is no longer business as usual for corrupt politicians after the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) arrested a man named Hassan Ahmad in Gombe with a sum of N2m naira allegedly meant for vote buying, iwitnesslive.com can report.

His arrest made it three within 24 hours after police arrested a PDP lawmaker in the early hours of Friday with $498, 100 while the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) intercepted N32.4M allegedly meant for vote buying in Lagos.

ICPC image-maker, Mrs. Azuka Ogugua revealed that the money came in both new and old notes.

”Ahmad had N900,000 cash in new naira notes and N1.1 million in old naira notes and the funds were being conveyed in a tinted black Hilux vehicle with registration number JMA 85 AZ.

”The funds, which were packed in a “Ghana Must Go” bag, comprises six bundles of N1000 new notes of N600, 000; six bundles of N500 new notes of N300, 000, and old two hundred naira notes of N1.1 million.” she told newsmen yesterday.
