The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a member of the House of Representatives representing Port Harcourt II Federal Constituency, Chinyere Igwe, with $498,100 cash.
Igwe, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was arrested with a list for the distribution of the money.
The arrest of the lawmaker was disclosed through a statement issued on Friday by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko.
