Still smarting from their 1-0 loss to Nigeria at the ongoing Africa U-20 Championship, the head coach of the Egyptian youth team, Mahmoud Gaber is full of praise for the Flying Eagles sides.
Nigeria rose from rock bottom to grind a win against the host on Wednesday following their 1-0 loss to Senegal last Sunday. The win restored Nigeria’s chances of qualifying FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
Mahmoud Gaber maintained that his players gave them against a strong Nigerian side who were determined to make their qualification count.
“I apologize to the fans after the loss against Nigeria. The goal that hit the national team’s net came from a set ball.”
“We had several chances in the second half, but we wasted them due to lack of focus,” he added.
” We played again a tough side and it became more difficult after they scored.,” he told Filgoal
Nigeria needs an outright win against Mozambique on Saturday to book one of the four tickets to Indonesia.
