Napoli’s Victor Osimhen faces a potential absence from their upcoming Serie A encounter against Inter Milan on Sunday due to a muscle injury.
According to an official statement released by Napoli on Friday, Osimhen underwent separate training sessions from his teammates as a result of the muscle injury sustained during Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona.
Despite featuring for the entirety of the match, which ended in a 3-1 defeat for Napoli against Barcelona, Osimhen’s injury now casts doubt on his availability for the upcoming fixture.
The Nigerian international has just one day to demonstrate his fitness ahead of the Inter Milan game. Osimhen has notably scored 13 goals in 24 appearances across various competitions this season.
Currently, Napoli occupies the 7th position in the Serie A table, trailing 4th-placed Bologna by seven points.
