Zaidu Sanusi has received medical clearance to commence as part of the starting lineup for the Super Eagles in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final against the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire.
Sanusi was absent in Nigeria’s semifinal triumph over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana due to a minor hamstring injury, and in his place, Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel took the starting position.
It is anticipated that Sanusi will be reinstated in the starting XI against Cote d’Ivoire. Head coach Jose Peseiro is expected to maintain his preferred 3-4-3 formation for the crucial match at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, with the kickoff scheduled for 9 pm Nigeria time.
