Fire has gutted a section of the multi-billion naira Blue Rail Mass Transit project at Marina, Lagos State, Iwitnesslive can report.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started from a section where generators used for the facilities were housed.
Our correspondent also gathered that no casualties were recorded in the inferno as the prompt arrival of firefighters from both the Federal and state fire stations prevented the degeneration of the inferno.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
In a text sent to our correspondent, he said “The fire at Marina started from the generator of the Blue Rail Mass Transit.”
He noted that the police patrol teams and the Fire Service were on ground to control the crowd and put out the fire respectively.
“People are urged to go about their lawful duties and not panic as the situation is under control,” Hundeyin added.
