The Federal Government has progressed in the selection process for permanent secretaries within the federal Civil Service by narrowing down to 18 directors. These individuals have advanced to the subsequent phase after undergoing an ICT assessment.
Initially, a pool of 85 directors was identified for a written assessment, but four were absent during this evaluation. Out of this group, only 20 directors managed to secure a passing grade, granting them access to the subsequent stage focused on ICT proficiency.
As per a memorandum issued on November 7, 2023, by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, the 61 directors who did not meet the passing threshold, scoring below 50 percent, have been disqualified from further consideration.
“The under-listed 18 candidates are invited to the oral interview stage of the process for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service following their successful performance in Stages 1 and 2 of the exercise,” a memo by the OHCSF said.
Unfortunately, directors hailing from Bauchi and Ebonyi States failed to meet the ICT assessment criteria, resulting in their exclusion from the selection process.
