The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, revealed that an outbreak of diphtheria has led to the deaths of 20 children in Kaduna State. Additionally, Shuaibu, who serves as the Co-Chairman of the Presidential Task Force Team on Diphtheria, reported a total of 156 confirmed cases of this severe infection in the state.
Dr. Shuaibu shared this information with the press after visiting the Kaduna Diphtheria Treatment Centre located at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the state’s capital on Wednesday.
