Abia State Gov. Visits Family of Slain Labour Party Chieftain, Promises Justice

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, paid a condolence visit to the family of Mr. Maduka Zachery, a chieftain of the Labour Party who was tragically beheaded by gunmen in Umuchioke-Ezieke, Akpukpa, Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the state.

During the visit to the deceased’s residence, Governor Otti expressed deep regret over the unfortunate incident and offered his condolences to the grieving family. He described Mr. Zachery as a dedicated party member and emphasized that his loss was not only a personal tragedy for the family but also a loss to the party and the entire state.

Governor Otti assured that those responsible for the killing would be apprehended and brought to justice, directing security agencies in the state to track down the culprits. While acknowledging the profound grief of the immediate family, the Labour Party, and the people of the state, he also noted that nothing could reverse the tragedy.

The governor was accompanied on the visit by key government officials, including the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, and the Commissioner for Justice, Barr Ikechukwu Uwanna, among others.
