Nollywood-turned-politician, Eniola Badmus once led the way to rid social media of name-calling and bullying after she got a Tik Toker arrested for defamation of character.
The so-called Tik Toker had, in a viral video, labeled Eniola Badmus as a ”professional pimp”. Believing that she would get away with her online dirty language, she was shocked when Police picked her up for thorough interrogation after which she was charged for defamation of character.
Eniola had asked the lady if she had for once pimped her for any senator saying: “Have I pimped you for someone before?” She was heard in the background as the rattled girl was pleading for mercy at the police station. Badmus then told her not to waste her breath, as she would prove in court how she got the title of a professional pimp.
To cut the long story short, word was rife that the young girl was found guilty of the offense and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Expectedly, the whole story sent tongues wagging, and social media was divided. While many felt that Eniola was too harsh on the young lady, many lauded the decision claiming that such move is needed to serve as deterrent to children of nowadays who run their mouth and disrespect elders on social media
For those who derive joy in coming up with videos to malign and defame people without care, the above story should serve as a warning signal because millions of victims out there would be inspired by Eniola’s decision. Defamation is a criminal offense, unfortunately, unfortunately, young girl learnt her lesson in a hard way
For the record, Eniola Badmus has been battling to stay afloat all her life, working hard every day and night to survive as best friends abandoned her even when she put her life on the line at movie locations for peanuts, What is her sin? they felt she knows too much.
Determined to get to the top, she had taken up several roles that she would ordinarily not have taken, but because she was all alone in her struggle, Eniola buried her pride and toiled so hard buy her Mercedes Benz from the US.
It was even worse when Nigeria’s Presidential Election heats up as many of her friends severed ties with her for supporting Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, but she held on to her beliefs in the former Lagos State Governor. Today Eniola Badmus weathered the storm all alone and bounced back from rock bottom to dine with Presidents. This diva deserves all the respect she can get, so steer clear of Eniola if you run your mouth on social media.
Truly, the fear of Eniola Badmus is the beginning of wisdom.
